The beaches are the most important of Mykonos’ most famous tourist assets, which make it, stand out among all the Aegean islands. Particularly in its southern part, the picturesque bays with the beautiful sandy beaches follow one another.
Ornos: A sheltered beach with a small fishermen’s port that is ideal for the anchorage of yachts. It, also, has a diving school. One of the most crowded and family – friendly beaches on the island. From the beach of Ornos, tourist boats sail for the other well-known southern beaches of Mykonos (as well as Platis-Gialos), while in the same bay there is a fishing-boats port and a secure anchorage.
“Super Paradise” or Plintri: The most famous beach on the island. Great attraction for the young visitors but not only them since besides its blue waters, the beach is a meeting point for all the island’s visitors. The beach is fully organized and the water sports enthusiasts will surely be satisfied.
Agios Ioannis (Saint John): The beach has a privileged view over Delos, the cape of Aleomandra and the canal between Mykonos and Delos. A sandy coast with clear blue waters suitable for those who prefer peace and relaxation while swimming. On the left edge of the sandy beach is the old chapel of Agios Stefanos. The quiet environment and clear waters makes it an ideal choice for those who seek relaxation.
Kalafatis: Fun, relaxation, water sports and good food, this beach combine everything. Main feature of the beach are the trees that offer natural shade and coolness to the swimmers.
Agia Anna: A small beach with fine sand and clear waters, ideal for those seeking quietness. Also on this beach you can enjoy scuba diving lessons or take part in underwater exploration trips for beginners and advanced level divers.
Kalo Livadi: A very popular beach located in the southern part of the island, crystal clear waters and a dreamlike view of the Aegean Sea. Fully organized and lively, if you love fun and good beach-service Kalo Livadi will satisfy you completely.
Kapari: A small beautiful beach for those seeking tranquility and relaxation. Fine sand; incredibly clear blue waters and the best view to the islet of Delos, so you can enjoy the unique sunset. Be careful of the path to the beach; you can get there by car until some point, but then you have to walk on a very downhill, steep path.
Lia: Deep sand, emerald waters, fully organized, ideal for those who want to enjoy a dreamy swimming combined with intense fun.
Platis Yalos: Perhaps the most crowded beach of Mykonos. This is a relatively large; tourist-filled sandy beach in the southern part of the island. Surrounded by hotels and fully organized. It is also the starting point of the sea link, with small boats, with the southern beaches: Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise, Agrari and Elia.
Ftelia: The best beach for incredible jumps, waveriding and windsurf. The north beach at the bay of Panormos has amazing waters and sand. When you are on the west side of the beach the whole landscape looks like a lagoon especially when it’s not windy.
Psarou: A cosmopolitan and fully organized beach with water sports. One of the most beautiful – organized beaches of the island with its characteristic fine sand and its emerald waters, constitutes the absolute choice of every visitor.
